Meta has announced plans to launch another consumer-grade virtual reality headset next year. On the company’s earnings call late Wednesday, Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the new high-end VR headset delivers high-resolution mixed reality for users to blend virtual objects into their surrounding physical environments. Recently, Zuckerberg unveiled the Meta Quest Pro, a VR headset packed with features like full-color mixed reality and priced at $1,500, in the presence of the company’s chairman and CEO Satya Nadella.
“The Meta Quest Pro was the first in a new line of advanced headsets created to expand the possibilities of virtual and mixed reality. Its pancake lens bends light multiple times, reducing the size of the headset while showing sharper scenes, Zuckerberg said at the ‘Meta Connect’ event late Tuesday.
