What happened?

The Indian government had earlier this year banned Battleground Mobile India in July on the same grounds it cited to ban PUBG Mobile. But unlike the ban on PUBG Mobile, BGMI was just removed from the App Store in the name of the ban. The government did not ask telecom service providers to block access to the game, which is why players who had BGMI installed on their devices at the time of the ban continue to access it today. But Crafton hasn’t been able to push any updates since both Google and Apple unreleased the game from their App Stores. The YouTuber called Technical Guruji and said that the game may return in a new avatar this year, with another streamer saying that the return could happen early next year. Reports also stated that BGMI may return with a new name and a new publisher, meaning that Crafton will either transfer the rights to BGMI to a different company or change the name of the Indian subsidiary to something else. .

At the moment it’s all just speculation and Crafton hasn’t said anything about the ban.
